Language

The national language of Vietnam is Vietnamese. Originating from the northern parts of Vietnam, Vietnamese is widely used as a first or second language with its own alphabet based on the Latin script. A little-known fact is that Vietnamese is also a recognized minority language in the Czech Republic. Go figure!

Best time

Known for heavy rainfalls, it’s best to visit Vietnam during spring and autumn when the rains ease up and the heat slightly relents. If you wish to see one of the biggest Vietnamese celebrations, Tet – the Vietnamese Chinese New year, plan your tour around mid-January to late February. The most rainfall in Vietnam is during the hot and humid months of May to October.

Cuisine

In Vietnam open your palate to new adventures! Lemongrass, mint, coriander, bird’s eye chillies, and lime will draw you into a heated dance of flavours. The Vietnamese have mastered the art of balancing the seemingly incompatible ingredients that end up as the most scrumptious meals.
